RE: RALLY TO PROTEST TAX MONEY GOING
TO BOB JONES UNIVERSITY
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH
AT 2PM

Remarks at Press Conference This Morning at NAACP Office:

Taxpayers do not want political leaders who give public funds without public accountability.

Taxpayers do not want public funds used as “pork” for schools who dictate who you should date based on skin color.

Taxpayers do not want politicians who use public funds as a way to reward schools they graduated from.

It took Gov. Beasley and Rep. Haskins 3 years to fund full-day kindergarten for our children.

It took both of them 3 years to raise out teachers’ salaries to the the SE average.

But when Bob Jones University went to Beasley and Haskins, they got state funds in just a matter of weeks.

Taxpayers do not believe that our children and teachers should wait while Beasley and Haskins puts BJU on the fast-track program for our tax money.

Taxpayers do not want our public funds used to bail out BJU because of their declining enrollment when our public schools are overcrowded.

Taxpayers do not want our public funds misused by politicians who buy themselves desks and computers while our public school children need them.

We ask that the State Senate controlled by Democrats to stop this misuse of public funds by the GOP House.

If BJU wants our public funds, they should be held accountable like all the other schools.
