Subject: Letter to the Editor

Hi, My name is Maria Rienecke and I am a student from the University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am a member of a group called The Mixed Initiative
which is a group for undergrad and graduate students who consider
themselves bi/multi racial/ethnic.  Every year we have a conference that
draws people from all over the nation. (Please see below) I would like to
extend to you the opportunity to take part in this event or, since
distance is a factor for most, establish some sort communication between
my group and yours that may prove beneficial for both in the future.
Take care and if you have any questions please feel free to email me at
mreieneck@umich.edu or call me at 734-764-1736

Race, and Lise Funderburg, author of Black, White, Other.

We will also host many small groups and workshops on topics such as:
mixed identity, multiracial families, interracial dating and
relationships, interfaith, transracial adoption, bi/multiracism, and
mixed people in the media, multiracial family ancestry and the
census/politics.

There will be an available resource table and an open-mic session.

Everyone is welcome to learn and discuss more about issues affecting the
ever increasing population of people that are "mixed," bi/multiracial,
cross-cultural, multi-ethnic and transracially adopted.
