The Atlanta Allstars Talent Show Network is a successful youth anti-violence
program that helps young people and inner city youth experience success —
sometimes for the very first time in their lives. .Everyone who auditions
makes it into a show. Young people also learn to run the stage, the sound,
the lights, security, so even if they are not on stage, they are part of
something that goes well. Succeeding helps them to feel differently about
who they are and what they can do in their lives. The All Stars Talent Show
Network began in 1983 in New York. The program is based on the discovery
that young people can re-ignite their development by performing. The program
is very exciting and very effective. For example, after having the All
Stars in New York City for over 15 years, there has been a significant drop
in crime.

One of the strengths of the All Stars is that it is not government funded.
Everyone who works with the All Stars is a volunteer. The money is raised
from individuals who want to participate in developing an anti-violence
program with young people.

New Volunteers, youth and adults welcome! The volunteer responsibilities are
many and they are diverse; it will involve everything that it takes to
create a production of auditions and a show, from running lights and sound,
to registering people for auditions, to helping to produce, train and develop
talent, to administrative preparation, phone calls, fundraising and doing
box office and supervision. There are many jobs that we haven't listed and
some you can create. We generally meet every Sunday in the late afternoon.
You are welcome to come anytime. Please Call 770 242 2118 for audition or
volunteer information.
