Your right about this being forgotten. Infact its not mentioned at all in most text books. America is one of the last countries to abolish slavery and the inspiration of this period of history sparked the battle for a lot of abolitionists as you mentioned and though Wilberforce helped end the slave trade slavery still continued on in North America and elsewhwere. Whats really sad is that it still exist and many people are unaware. I havent seen this film but I really look foward to the detail of the history.
