Re: Love in Black and White

Let me first address the old stereotype issue. Where is the ol' stereotype that you are talking about. This is not a stereotype, this is my life. I have had to live with the fact that because I didn't fit the stereotype of a typical black man, sisters wouldn't give me the time of day. I have had black women tell me straight to my face that I was not black enough or that sisters want an certain type of fellow. I was told that, I didn't make up a stereotype. I wven attended an historically black college, becuase I had been raised in all white suburbs and wanted to get to know other blacks and maybe even date black women. I dated one and after 3 months she slept with my best friends roommate. I am a christian, ma'am, and I don't have sex outside of marriage. I guess she didn't respect that. I then spent ten years after college dating and trying to meet my life mate. Well, the only ones who ever accepted me for who I was or was interested in me were non-black women. I don't hate them for it, that is their choice, as long as they realize that I have choices too. That I am going to love a woman who loves and is interested in me. Not because of her color, but the ones who generally want to be with me.

As for when the last time I was in church, well, it was this past Wednesday night service, which I attend everyweek. I also go twice on Sundays. I service meals to the poor at church every other week. I am an attorney, who works with the poor and homeless, giving pro-bono(free) advocacy to the poor. I am also a vlounteer caretaker, taking care of 16 women nightly and living on the premises to give medical and counseling support. I also volunteer with my mountain club, my theatre company, my political party and several boards and environmental group. My office is located in the heart of the black community, what else is there that you want to know in that area?
