re: compassionate conservatism

I want to agree that it was a missed oppurtunity by the compassionate conservatives to do something about the immigrations problems, but it is more of a missed opportunity by the liberals for 8 years to prove their support for poor, people of color, multiracial individuals and families, the environment and those trapped in the racist system--pardoning Leoonard Peltier, instead of Marc Rich.
The conservatives don't own explanations for their activities, we all know what they stand for. It is the hypocrisy of the liberals to act as if they have the moral high ground, yet turn their backs on progressive politics, minority groups, gays, inner city poor. Missed opportunities aside, liberals stop talking about of boths sides of your mouth or step aside.
