I was not referring to a "travel convenience", but a relocation convenience.

That day is already here. We have social Security ID #s and drivers license or other official picture ID requirements upon securing a job.

We need our driver's license to write a check.

And we need ID to obtain a library card, the record of the books we take out is recorded on that number.

If the government wants to consolidate my driver's license and Social Security #s, let them. There is NOTHING about me, or anyone else, that they can not discover with a few clicks of a mouse anyway.
