UNITED STATES SENATE
225 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510-4601
(202) 224-2023
July 17, 1997
Mr. James A. Landrith, Jr.
P.O. Box 8208
Alexandria, Virginia 22306-8208
Dear Mr. Landrith:
Thank you for taking the time to contact my office regarding H.R. 830, an Amendment to the Federal Paperwork Reduction Act. I appreciate hearing from you.
As you may know, Representative Thomas Petri (R-WI) introduced this legislation on February 25, 1997. This legislation would require all federal collections of information to allow respondents the opportunity to classify themselves as "multiracial" or "multiethnic".
Currently, this bill is before the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight. Should companion legislation be introduced before the Senate, I certainly will keep your comments in mind. Again, thank you for sharing your views with me.
With kind regards, I am
Sincerely,
John Warner
