The following members of the South Carolina Legislature voted AGAINST the amendment to overturn the State's embarrassing, unconstitutional ban on interracial marriage or abstained from voting on the amendment. With these views, they clearly have no business legislating and TMA recommends voting them out of office next election.
- John Altman
- Dan Cooper
- Margaret Gamble - voted no on House resolution to allow voters to remove state ban on interracial marriage
- Larry Koon
- Lanny Littlejohn - "That's not what God intended when he separated the races back in the Babalonian days. The races would be a lot better off if they stuck to their own kind. You know, I've been raised a Baptist all my life and I guess that's exactly where it comes from. My family taught me that over the years, and that didn't take place during my upbringing, and therefore I don't espouse it." - NPR's Morning Edition, broadcast April 15, 1999.
- Yauncy McGill
- Olin Philips
