Recently, Hawaii ACLU Board Member Daphne Barbee-Wooten lobbied the Hawaii ACLU to NOT invite Justice Thomas to the Davis-Bacon First Amendment Conference. Following discussion of the Hawaii ACLU decision on Justice Thomas' invitation, Ms. Barbee-Wooten said: "He's married to a white person" along with many other completely irrelevant and inflammatory remarks as if that is some justification for opposing his invitation. This type of bigotry is considered unacceptable when coming from the Right, yet it is usually excused when it emanates from Left-oriented organizations. TMA, however, will not look the other way. Ms. Barbee-Wooten should be ashamed.
