Letter to Editor of UIC Today

I recently posted online a response to an article in UIC Today, a daily college newspaper in Chicago. The piece, by Rebecca Brasfield, was titled: “Interracial dating brings special problems

I took issue with the title from the beginning and fired off a quick post to the article. My posting was also run as a letter to the editor on October 14 available here. My colleague, George Winkel also posted a response to the article which was published in the same issue. As always, George said it well and drove home some points that I should have mentioned.

Update: The author of the piece believes she is being misrepresented. I’ve misrepresented nothing in this weblog posting. Either she authored the article, or she didn’t. However, she has attributed the article’s offending title to an editor. That is not a misrepresentation on this blog’s part, but an editorial issue with her former editor.

    1. Nothing in this weblog posting has been inappropriately represented. Its straightforward and plain. However, your posting here reminded me that you had previously mentioned (perhaps via email?) that the title was your editor’s fault, not yours. I’ve updated the posting to reflect that.
