I have read the letters and articles above with great interest.<\/p>\n
They reinforce my view that the privacy of interracial marriages is
really a necessity and a right for interracial couples and families.<\/p>\n
I personally tend to resent being asked to participate in surveys and
studies of interracial families because I believe marriage is a
personal and private matter, not a political and public matter. We have
a right to live unmolested, in peace, in our marriages and families. We
have this right even if surveys and studies show that interracial
marriages are all failures, the families disfunctional and the
children "maladjusted."<\/p>\n
I really do not care what the right, the left, liberals, conservatives,
Marxists, etc. etc. think of my marriage and family so long as they
have no right to interfere in it.<\/p>\n
I would like others to enter into this discussion of privacy and its
relevance to interracial marriages and families and bi-racial
individuals. My observation and experience has been that many different
kinds of people enter into interracial relationships and it is dangerous
to expect them to conform to other people's "standards" of what they
should think and be like. If they are free citizens in a free society
they have the right to marry and have children as they please
