  1.1                          A bill for an act \r\n  1.2             relating to data collection; requiring forms asking \r\n  1.3             for information on a completer's racial or ethnic \r\n  1.4             origin to provide for designation of a multiracial \r\n  1.5             category; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota \r\n  1.6             Statutes, chapters 15; and 363. \r\n  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: \r\n  1.8      Section 1.  [15.0571] [AGENCY FORMS; DESIGNATION OF RACIAL \r\n  1.9   ORIGIN.] \r\n  1.10     An agency governed by section 15.17 that prepares and<\/u> \r\n  1.11  distributes a form for completion by an individual that asks or<\/u> \r\n  1.12  requires the individual to check or enter information on the<\/u> \r\n  1.13  individual's racial or ethnic origin shall include, as an option<\/u> \r\n  1.14  to be chosen by the individual, a category designated as<\/u> \r\n  1.15  multiracial.<\/u> \r\n  1.16     Sec. 2.  [363.0305] [FORMS; DESIGNATION OF RACIAL ORIGIN.] \r\n  1.17     An employer, employment agency, educational institution,<\/u> \r\n  1.18  labor organization, or place of public accommodation that<\/u> \r\n  1.19  prepares and distributes a form for completion by an individual<\/u> \r\n  1.20  that is related to education, employment, or health care, and<\/u> \r\n  1.21  that asks or requires the individual to check or enter<\/u> \r\n  1.22  information on the individual's racial or ethnic origin shall<\/u> \r\n  1.23  include, as an option to be chosen by the individual, a category<\/u> \r\n  1.24  designated as multiracial.<\/u> \r\n  1.25     Sec. 3.
