Barack Obama, D-Ill., voted this week in favor of the deal on President Bush&#8217;s judicial nominees. &#8220;This compromise recognizes that Republicans need to build some consensus around their judicial nominees and that Democrats need to be more judicious about their use of the filibuster,&#8221; Obama, the only senator in the CBC, said in a statement. &#8220;I am pleased that both sides have stepped away from the brink and preserved the role of the minority in the Senate.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Good for Senator Obama. I&#8217;m no fan of any of the controversial judicial nominees at the heart of this matter (or any statists &#8211; conservative or liberal) and would have voted against them, but I am pleased to see that the Senator is not in lock-step with the CBC.<\/p>\n<p>The CBC and their allies in the civil rights industry don&#8217;t own you Senator, even though the prevailing thought pattern amongst the a majority of the CBC and certain civil rights groups is that &#8220;multiracial&#8221; individuals are really only &#8220;black&#8221; and hence &#8211; their property to be manipulated and controlled.<\/p>\n<p>This entry also posted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jameslandrith.com\/wordpress\/\">Taking The Gloves Off<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obama Breaks Ranks With CBC Compiled by the DiversityInc staff Breaking ranks with the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Sen.
