This week a 78-year-old Los Angeles woman came forward with the claim that she is the illegitimate child of Strom Thurmond. This isn&#8217;t too big of a deal; I mean, what&#8217;s a little infidelity here and there, right? Bill Clinton officially threw family values out the White House window. <\/p>\n<p>But what makes good ol&#8217; Strom&#8217;s situation so interesting is that Ms. Essie May Washington-Williams, Thurmond&#8217;s daughter, is of mixed race. How could it be? Not Strom. Our nation&#8217;s leading segregationist dared to have sex with an African American?
