Another idiotic \u201cblack\u201d American, former Los Angeles teacher Millie McGhee, claims that the late Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) Director J. Edgar Hoover was really \u201cblack\u201d and only \u201cpassing as white\u201d because he possibly had some \u201cblack\u201d ancestry. Let\u2019s consider the idiocy of McGhee\u2019s position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) She says her research shows that Hoover\u2019s grandfather and great-grandfather lived in a segregated black area of Washington and were classified in a census as \u201ccoloured\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The census is not only notoriously inaccurate, but \u201ccoloured\u201d does not tell us much about a person\u2019s actual ancestry. \u201cColoured\u201d was a generic term for \u201cnon-white\u201d and was applied to people of Indian (not \u201cblack\u201d) ancestry as well as those with African ancestry who were not officially \u201cwhite.\u201d We cannot use the census to determine how \u201cwhite\u201d or \u201cblack\u201d these ancestors were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) \u201cIs this man so ashamed of his race that he would spend his whole life passing for white?\u201d she asks. \u201cHow has our race offended him?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the \u201cone drop\u201d myth so dear to McGhee is based in the idea that \u201cblack\u201d genes are so super-inferior that even a tiny amount can destroy the \u201cwhiteness\u201d of a person of predominately European descent, why shouldn\u2019t Hoover have been \u201cashamed\u201d of inferiority-complex-ridden Negroes trying to claim him for their own? Also, if Hoover is a member of McGhee\u2019s \u201crace,\u201d because of a small amount of \u201cblack\u201d ancestry, wouldn\u2019t all the Puerto Ricans, Cubans, etc. be members of her \u201crace\u201d as well? As long as \u201cblacks\u201d like McGhee are stupid enough to endorse a racist myth based upon their extreme \u201cinferiority,\u201d they will continue to \u201coffend\u201d many people who won\u2019t put up with their \u201cone drop\u201d idiocy. You don\u2019t see Jews being stupid enough to endorse \u201cAryan\u201d mythology, do you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) She believes that his obsession with [Martin Luther] King and other black civil rights leaders stemmed in part from his repressed anger about his secret life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoover\u2019s small amount of \u201cblack\u201d ancestry doesn\u2019t constitute a \u201csecret life.\u201d If hated of King and other civil rights leaders comes from repressed anger over \u201cblack\u201d ancestry, when are Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond going to be \u201couted\u201d? May we assume that ALL those Southern white segregationists were \u201cpassing\u201d? If they were, isn\u2019t that really a confirmation of the \u201cblack inferiority\u201d myth they promoted?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) Ms McGhee says that the book is not an expos\ufffd of Hoover\u2019s dishonesty, but more of a cross between \u201cRoots and Danielle Steel\u201d, in that it catalogues her search to discover the family\u2019s secrets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoover was dishonest about many things, but his \u201crace\u201d wasn\u2019t one of them. There is a great deal of dishonesty in the fact that this kind of \u201cblack\u201d idiocy is not directly challenged by those who know better. I might add that \u201cRoots\u201d was revealed to be dishonest as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find it incredible that so many \u201cblacks\u201d in the United States continue to, with great cowardice, single out isolated \u201cwhite\u201d individuals to claim for their \u201crace,\u201d while carefully ignoring the masses of Latinos and Arab-Americans who show plenty of \u201cblack blood\u201d and disdain to identify with \u201cblacks.\u201d The history of Mexican-American \u201ccivil rights\u201d litigation, for example, consists mainly of the argument that they are \u201cwhite\u201d (despite their dark skins) and better than mere \u201cblacks.\u201d Find ONE \u201cblack\u201d publication that denounces that attitude. No, they respect it by maintaining their silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, let\u2019s end this myth of \u201crace\u201d altogether. The idea that a person who looks \u201cwhite\u201d is really \u201cblack\u201d is as valid as the Third Reich\u2019s division of mankind into \u201cAryans\u201d and \u201cnon-Aryans.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
