Curiouser and curiouser my caucasian love goes… for I
\nam in love with another, she is my african rose.
\nI love her for her color, but only is a plus. What I really
\nwant is happiness for all of us.
\nOnly my first serious love in truth… but I also deal with
\nrestraints on youth.
\nI will wait for her, and for no one else but her.
\nShe is worth every moment…
\nI am afraid her weak link, may be the downfall to the
\nmarraige… because even though she hates racism… she
\ndwells on it constantly.
\nThere is still unsettled frustration in this one I love, and
\nwill do anything to appease it. But I wonder… what does
\nthis spell for my children, for I shall have children, and her
\nfeeling is mutual.
\nMy question is… how do you approach this to them?
\nShould you make them aware of the cruel world early in
\nlife??? Trying to prepare them? Or would it be better that
\nthey don’t have to know about it until it confronts them?
\nWhich could be traumatizing… but at least they went
\nthrough life for many years not feeling the racial inequality
\nand burden… so my question is…
\nOne day, my children will learn they were dealt a poor
\nhand from the start because of racist views…. should I tell
\nthem? If so, what is an appropriate age? Or should they
\nnot be subjected to it for as long as the world is kind
\nenough to not have them experience it.
\nThe singer Sade said she was very fortunate in her
\nfamily…. that her first real taste of racism did not come to
\nher until she was 11 or 12. So what is the best path to
\ntravel? Tell them when? What is the opinion of others in
\nthe same boat?
