I noticed the other day in Beau Bonneau Casting (84 First Street, San Francisco, CA) that on its talent database, it requests an actor’s ethnicity/ies. One of the choices is “mulatto”. Besides the obvious problem of a potential employer essentially asking those EEOC no-no questions, haven’t we moved on from a word derived from the Spanish word for mule?
As an actor, I must find indirect ways to protest this act (or lose any chance of employment). Are there connections in the Bay Area that I might go to?
